Community of Practice with Shiv Martin

Led by Shiv Martin, this CoP provides a structured space for conciliation and early resolution professionals to connect, reflect, and strengthen their practice. Each session will include a short presentation, shared best-practice resources, and space for group discussion.

It’s designed to support:

  • Cross-sector insight into dispute resolution practice

  • Practical tools and peer support for common challenges

  • Ongoing development through reflective dialogue

Topics We’ll Cover:

Navigating the Role of AI in Dispute Resolution
Understanding how artificial intelligence is changing early resolution and compliance work and what that means for us as practitioners.

Managing Challenging Interactions with Confidence
Techniques for navigating high-conflict behaviours while protecting your wellbeing and maintaining control of the process.

Promoting Staff Wellbeing in High-Pressure Roles
Strategies to support resilience, psychological safety, and sustainable practice in emotionally demanding work.

Comparing Models: Mediation, Conciliation, and More
Exploring the similarities and differences between key dispute resolution frameworks and when to apply each approach.

Practising Cross-Cultural Awareness and Safety
Building cultural responsiveness and trust across diverse communities by adapting communication and service delivery.

We'll also make time for any additional topics that arise through the group’s reflective practice.
